ASU Honor Program Donates Educational Materials and Supplies

On Thursday, May 26, 2016 Alcorn State University Honor Students donated unused educational materials and supplies to the Jefferson County Public Library. Dr. Wandra Arrington - Assistant Honors Director and Mr. Michael Hurns a Biology/Pre-Medicine Major, Senior Class President 2016-2017 and a Alcorn State University football player#7, presented the donations to the Branch Manager, Brenda Rankin. "We are overjoyed that we have such great support from Alcorn State University and the Community". Thirteen Honor students donated 97 packs of materials and supplies which consisted of pens, pencils, markers, notebook paper, subject tablets, folders, binders, index dividers, sheet protectors, index cards, pencil and card cases, post-it-notes, erasers and rulers.

End of School Projects at Jefferson County Public Library

  Students from the Jefferson County School District have been busy for several weeks completing multiple projects as the 2015-2016 school years near ending for Summer Break.  It has been a fun year and the staff (Brenda Rankin - Branch Manager, Jerry Stampley - Library Assistant and Andrew Jackson - volunteer)  at the Jefferson County Public Library is elated that we have been a part of their learning and educational tour this school year.

Over time, you may even find that you end up with entire drawers and storage boxes filled with odd socks. But worry not! Lost Sock Memorial Day is all about commemorating the other (lost) halves of the pairs of socks which are still with us. Here’s to their memory.
