Our Hours of Business are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM; Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00AM - 6:00PM.  You may drop them off any time during normal business hours.

The name(s) will be drawn by the children coming into the library beginning December 1, 2016 to December 19, 2016 and participate in activities.  Their name will be put into a drawing for random selection.

Honey Graham Crackers
Marshmallows

Instructions:
Break off a square of Graham cracker
Add a piece of Chocolate.
Toast a big marshmallow over the campfire.
Add the hot marshmallow.
Top it with another graham Cracker.

Almost Done! Summer Reading Program!

Today, Amber Harried - a student at Alcorn State University, facilitated the activities for the Summer Reading Program.  Amber is a member of the Alcorn State University Honor Society, a Biology/Pre-Med Major, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and a faithful volunteer at the Jefferson County Public Library.  Amber reminded the children of the importance of an education.  Today's story was "So You Want to Be President? Other activities included crossword puzzles, and the Limbo game.

Mississippi Children Museum Shares Summer Reading

MS Monique Ealey, MS Children Museum provided reading fun, games and activities at the Jefferson County Public Library Summer Reading Program Today!  We also got a surprise visit from Jefferson County Board of Supervisors, District 5 - Tracy Collins.  Activities included the reading of "I Will Never, Not Ever Eat a Tomato".

Fire Departments Participate In the Summer Reading Program!

The Jefferson County and the Lorman Volunteer Fire Department excitedly came to the Jefferson County Public Library to participate in our 2016 Summer Reading Program.  They showed us the gadgets on the trucks and what each one of their functions was.  They also showed us how to work the oxygen, climb the ladder and lots of other exciting stuff.  Thanks to Chief Calvin Jones - Fayette, MS fire Department for bringing in all the support staff.  Thanks to Fire Chief Julius Davis - Lorman Volunteer Fire Department for the educational view of the truck, Mr. Marlon Buck and Mr. Kerry Doss, Mr. Derrick Harried and Mr. James Wells – Jefferson County Board of Supervisor, District 1 Jefferson County and Fire Chief - Redlick Volunteer Fire Department for supporting us.  We ended with the reading of "Drop, Stop, And Roll" with Melinteno Ford.

Summer Reading Programs Begin Today at Jefferson County Public Library

Jefferson County Public Library begins its summer reading Program today.  Jerry Stampley, Library Assistant kicked off with the beat of "On Your Mark, Get Set----Read Song".  The children read stories to us as well as storytelling by the staff.  Games were played and prizes were given.  Lots of Fun!!!
